I love summer. Or, for those who have texting as a first language: I <3 Summer!
I really do! Miss Priss is out of school, and the whole season is ripe with opportunities for fun, sun, and travels!
But summer couldn't have come at a worse time for this poor blog. A month ago I was just starting to hit my stride. I had a schedule, a very lovely schedule, that included time for workouts and writing, housework and hissy fits. (Oh, now THAT would be a good name for a blog! Housework and Hissy Fits! Anyway...) The schedule was not yet perfected, but I felt more focused and proud at what I was accomplishing with my time.
Then the teacher let the monkeys out, and I feel a bit like Hubs, the girls and I have been thrown into a vortex, like the one that forms when the plug has been pulled from the bath and the water goes rushing down the drain. Summer is happening NOW, and we've got a limited time to do something with it before it all goes down the pipes and school has started again!
Speaking of the bathtub vortex, around here we call it a Tornado. Priss used to say, as the water began to get low in the tub, "Look Sunny! The Tornado!! The Tornado!!!!" And now Sunny gets all pumped when the plug is pulled and shouts to all of us, "The TOMATO!! The TOMATO!!!!!!"
(Announcer: The previous Pile of Cuteness was brought to you by Water. Remember, Summer is no fun unless you're wet 65% of the time! And now, we return to our regularly scheduled post.)
I mention all of this to you in the hope that you will bear with me through these summer months. I'm not sure what shape this blog will take as we barrel through summer and I find bits and pieces of time to do my writing. But I am committed! (Or maybe I will BE committed by fall? It's a toss-up.) The Summer Non-Schedule will be tough, but I'm excited to see how I can stand up to the challenge.
If I can keep regularly posting to this blog throughout the summer, then I'll know that I've got the capability to keep posting through anything!
After all, folks, Christmas is right around the corner.
And I am a hot mess at Christmas!
